Autoneum is a global leader in OEM acoustic and thermal management components, supplying molded floor, firewall, and headliner insulation that automakers install during assembly; in the aftermarket, Dynamat is the best-known consumer brand for supplemental sound-deadening material applied by installers and enthusiasts to doors, floors, and trunk panels. Dynamat's core product is a butyl-rubber constrained-layer damping mat with an aluminum foil facing, which is pressed onto bare sheet metal to reduce panel resonance (vibration-borne noise) rather than to block airborne sound directly, commonly paired with a separate closed-cell foam or mass-loaded vinyl layer for thermal and airborne-noise control.
