Description

Autoliv is the world's largest automotive safety supplier and a primary source of seat belt systems, alongside airbags, for most global OEMs. A modern seat belt assembly is far more than webbing — it integrates a pyrotechnic pretensioner that removes slack on impact, a load limiter that pays out webbing in a controlled way to reduce chest injury, and a retractor mechanism with both vehicle-sensitive and webbing-sensitive locking modes. Because the pretensioner is a single-use pyrotechnic device, any seat belt that has fired in a collision must be replaced as a complete assembly rather than repaired.
