Description

CTS Corporation is a major supplier of electronic pedal assemblies, particularly the accelerator pedal, which on drive-by-wire vehicles integrates a non-contact Hall-effect or potentiometer position sensor directly into the pedal arm rather than using a mechanical cable. Brake and clutch pedals remain largely mechanical, pivoting on a metal or composite arm connected to the master cylinder pushrod (brake) or clutch cable/hydraulic slave cylinder (clutch), with a rubber or perforated-metal pedal pad for grip.
