The panel is typically an injection-molded polypropylene substrate faced with a soft-touch skin or fabric insert, integrating the map pocket, armrest pad, speaker grille, and switch bezel mounts for the window and mirror controls. Panels also carry the door's watershield mounting clips and often the side-impact airbag deployment seam, meaning fitment is vehicle- and side-specific (left/right) and not universally interchangeable even across trim levels of the same model.
