CV Axle / Half Shaft Assembly

Description

GKN Automotive is the world's largest manufacturer of constant-velocity (CV) joints and driveshafts, supplying the half-shaft assemblies that transmit engine torque from the transmission/differential to the wheel hub while accommodating suspension travel and steering angle. Each assembly uses an inner CV joint (typically a tripod design, allowing plunge for suspension travel) and an outer CV joint (typically a Rzeppa ball-type design, allowing a wider steering angle), both packed with grease and sealed under a flexible rubber or thermoplastic boot that is a common failure and service point.
